HI Laura, How are you?

We are collecting stories from students about their experience with ALC.

There is a contest going on to win a camcorder for those with the most participation.

If you join the alternative group you'll see that a bunch of students have shared their stories. Would you be willing to share yours and ask your friends at school to share theirs too?

We are doing this help change the outlook on ALCs and to keep ALCs around....and like Terry said below to make education better for all students so we need all the stories we can get. Just click on the Start Discussion Plus sign on the Alternative group page.

We are also making videos to add to YouTube... would you be interested in sharing your story there?

Hi Laura -- Thanks for inviting me in. I will look forward to your contributions once the topic gets nailed down for SSO Goes Alternative. We need to know what students think so we can address policy to make education better for all students.

BTW, I am TOTALLY showing my lack of know-how, but how do you get backgrounds like yours?

Hi Laura, I live not too far away from you by Lake Mille Lacs. I would love to visit your school. Have you told others that weren't at the conference about this site? Glad you are here;)

Hi Laura,
I just tallied up the topic totals from the leadership applications that I collected and I found that 63 students, including you, chose #1 which was, "students determine what standards they think are most important to have in order to graduate from high school"

More students chose this topic over any other. Why do suppose this was? What are your thoughts?

I will be posting the totals for the other topics on the Alt forum and would like to open discussion there. Please join us.
