Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm 17 about to be 18. I live in New Ulm and I go to Riverbend ALC.
Why are you interested in Students Speak Out?
I think its a good way for ALC students to speak their minds about the schools and give out a little information to others about how ALC schools really are.

My ALC Story

Have you ever gone to an ALC or ever visited an ALC? If you have, you may know for yourself that each ALC is unique in its own way. ALC schools have a message that no other schools can deliver to their students. ALC schools make you aware that you are welcome; that you can have trust in them, and that you’ll fit in among the other students. They don’t judge you even if you came from the streets. They give you the hope and encouragement to graduate and move on to better things in life. If you’ve… Continue

Kari-- We're meeting with Rep. Mariani (he's a legislator in the MN House of Representatives) next week 6/19, and then having pizza. It'll go from 3:30 - 7 pm in St. Paul. We'd love for you to join us. Basically, we'll tell him all the findings from the work with students attending ALCs (that's you!). Your job would be to share the story you shared on SSO. Will you come? If so, I can give you more details. Molly is likely coming, too. Kim

Kari -- We picked a winner for the SSO Goes Alternative group posters, but she did not claim the prize. So we just picked again and YOU won. Would you please claim the prize by this Tuesday, April 15 by clicking "send a message" under my name on my MyPage and sending me your address so we can send you the camera (please don't post the personal info on my comment wall).

Congratulations! We hope you'll enjoy using the camera, and that you will use it to film some more people's alternative school stories and post them on SSO.

Kari -- I'd still really like to put your story on the blog on the main page. If you post it on your blog, here on your page, I can do that!

Kari -- Would you mind doing a "cut and paste" with your story and putting it in your blog here on your page? I'd like to feature it on the main page (where Nuny's story currently is). By the way, there is an email going out from SSO and it has a quote from you in it!

Let me know if you will do the blog thing...

Kim

I hope you'll let me know what you think and post your story too. Everyone who posts their story will be entered into a drawing to win a sony net-sharing camcorder! Hope to chat with you soon....Nuny
